He has been instrumental in the development of over 300 megawatts of solar generation primarily in the Northeast United States. He is the founder and President of the New Jersey Solar Grid Supply Association (NJSGSA), Vice-President of the Mid Atlantic Solar and Storage Industry Association (MSSIA), on the board of the International Battery and Energy Storage Association (IBESA), a conference committee member of the Intersolar North America Conference, as well as numerous other industry positions. As a developer and prominent advocate of renewable energy, Mr. Spano strives to maintain the highest quality standards and find creative solutions to move development forward, from inception through execution and commissioning. Mr. Spano’s strong financial background as well as his expertise in real estate and land development have given him a perspective that is unique among solar energy developers. Mr. Spano has played a key role in the development of projects totaling over two hundred megawatts in solar generation facilities, with over 80 megawatts built. Through his leadership, Spano Solar Enterprises is now recognized as one of the top privately-owned utility-scale alternative energy developers in New Jersey. Mr. Spano is the founder and President of the New Jersey Solar Grid Supply Association (NJSGSA), an organization of investors, developers, engineers, energy professionals and public supporters dedicated to improving New Jersey’s energy program. The Association represents the majority of grid-connected, utility-scale solar generation facilities in New Jersey. He is also a Director of the Mid-Atlantic Solar Energy Industries Association (MSEIA) and has been named an Advisory Board Member for the Distributed Energy Conference scheduled for October 2020. As a leader in the industry and heavily involved in the regulatory market, Mr. Spano is often called upon as an expert voice to represent the industry in both legal proceedings as well as regulatory and legislative issues.
